Here is exactly what happens between our first visit and your first shower. No mystery days, no disappearing crew, no 'we found something' without photos and a price before we touch it. This is the process behind every Newington surround we sign.

In Newington steps 2–3 usually take day one and steps 4–5 take days two and three: Half of Newington's tubs are cast iron worth keeping; the walls around them are not. Surround-only re-tile is the town's sweet-spot job. You can shower again 24 hours after grout — we will tell you the exact hour.
- Free measure & fixed quote. We measure, check the tub and valves, and price in writing.
- Protect & tear out. Floors and fixtures covered; old surround stripped to studs, hauled away.
- Inspect & waterproof. Studs treated if needed; cement board, membrane, sealed corners — photographed.
- Set tile. Layout agreed with you first; flat walls, plumb corners, even joints.
- Grout, seal & caulk. Grout, penetrating sealer, and fresh silicone at every change of plane.
- Walkthrough. We inspect with you, punch-list on the spot, and leave care instructions.

For the measure and the walkthrough, yes. During work days many customers hand over a key — we're licensed, insured and tidy, and we lock up.
We inspect at the measure. If valves are serviceable they stay; if they're due, we coordinate replacement before tile — never tiled over and hoped about.
Typically measured this week, started within one to two weeks. Surrounds are short jobs so we fit them between larger bookings quickly.
About 24 hours for standard grout, sooner for rapid-set. We'll give you the exact hour at walkthrough.
